Amazon’s Newest Ambition: Competing Directly With UPS and FedEx

Amazon aims to build a full-scale shipping and logistics network that will not only ship products ordered from Amazon, but also will ship products for other retailers and consumers. Amazon started delivery trials with its own couriers in big cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. Amazon now delivers its own packages from roughly 70 facilities in 21 states.

Report: The B2C sector in China is still on rise

China is becoming one of the major players in e-commerce, but almost half of its population does not have access to the internet (49%). We can also see in the report that travel is by far the most popular online service group and the number of e-shoppers and average spending per e-shopper has increased considerably in recent years.

The gulf between what consumers want from stores and what they actually get in online shopping is wider than ever, according to a new report from Deloitte. Some 66% say they prefer “a self-directed shopping journey,” up from 30% in 2014. On the other hand, it finds positive online experiences have also sparked a much higher degree of willingness to share data, such as location and personal details, in exchange for a better shopping experience.

cel-roCel.ro turns 12

Cel.ro celebrated its 12 years of existence this September. The electro-IT Romanian online shop has around 800.000 customers and it sold over 2,5 million products. The turnover for 2015 was of 178 million lei. The shop has now an inventory of 279.000 products and around 150 employees.
