Romanians looove Black Friday

In Romania, according to data about last year’s campaigns for Black Friday, the conversion rate grew by 192% and the website traffic by 283%. RTB House analyzed hundreds of campaigns launched on 40 markets, to see what type of conversion evolution is expected for companies during this period. The conversion potential for Black Friday is huge, even bigger that the one during the Christmas holiday season.

Instagram will soon let you shop right within the app

But it’s soon changing this approach with the introduction of shoppable product tags. Brands will be able to tag any items in their pictures, which take the user to a separate product page for more information and a ‘shop now’ link that goes straight to the seller’s storefront.

A.R.M.O. befriends EMOTA

The European Ecommerce & Omnichannel Association has a new member. ARMO, the Association of Romanian Online Stores, has joined the pan-European ecommerce association. Romania is now the 17th country to have an ecommerce association joining EMOTA. ARMO is a Romanian association that wants to develop ecommerce as a modern and efficient method of trade. It supports online stores in Romania and tries to represent them in front of national, local and supranational authorities.

Seven Romanian football clubs have online shops

As opposed to the European market, only half of the Romanian League 1 football clubs sell their fan merchandise online: ACS Poli Timişoara, CFR Cluj, CSM Iaşi, CSU Craiova, Dinamo, Steaua and ASA Târgu Mureş. Strangely, the winner of the Romania Cup, Astra Giurgiu, has announced its supporters that they will be able to buy branded products soon, but the announcement hangs online since last season. For example, the champion team of the UK, Leicester City, sold over 300.000 t-shirts this year.
