FCC Riles Oliver Stone to Jello Biafra on Web Fast-Lane Vote

Internet is changing?

The vote in the European Parliament this week endangers the Net neutrality. The amendments meant to protect the Internet we know today were rejected, including by the majority of the Romanian members of the Parliament, says Asociația Pentru Tehnologie și Internet (ApTI).

For example, the European e-commerce market could be affected by the “two gears” of the Internet and the newcomers will be discouraged. An online shop with a bigger financial power than others would pay the Internet providers for better speed for the website loading.

A vast majority of consumers check prices online before ordering the products. There are three methods for this procedure, as identified by a study undertaken in the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovenia: the consumer checks the prices on the manufacturer’s website (1), on other e-commerce websites (2) or they use price check comparison services (3). This habit is to be found offline also and some price checkings are done even in the brick-and-mortar shops.
