The shape and figures of the 2015 e-commerce sector in Romania

Studiu GPeCAs we celebrate 10 years of GPeC this year, we wanted to analyse the e-commerce market in Romania and we undertook a study on 2.404 online shops. Among our findings: 46% of the shops offer the possibility to pay online with the credit or debit card. Although it cannot be considered a scientific national study, we believe that its results reflect the reality of the Romanian e-commerce market.

“Omnichannel”: how to do it?

National Retail FederationA new study from the National Retail Federation benchmarks show how retailers are matching consumers’ omnichannel expectations. On the plus side, 95% of the retailers studied optimize their sites for viewing on mobile devices. On the negative side, only 54% send consumers email messages that are optimized for reading on mobile devices. The report warns retailers that do not soon optimize email for mobile will face higher delete and unsubscribe rates.

Money-back guarantee? Certificate of conformity? What do you mean?

Test cunostinte TrustedTRUSTED.ro identified some lacks of knowledge about the rights and responsibilities of the Romaniann online consumers, using a quiz on the blog and on Cyberculture.ro. 171 visitors took the test. There were 10 questions and every right answer counted for one point. Only one visitor answered correctly to all 10 questions. Until October 21st, the average total points on both blogs was 5,64.

Cel.ro will grow bigger and stronger

Cel-roCel.ro, one of the most notorious online local IT shop, extends its product range and counts on a 30% business growth rate. Launched 11 years ago, Cel.ro is the biggest online shop owned by a Romanian company. Corsar Online is managed by Tiberiu Pop. Last year, Cel.ro raised 33 milion euros in sales, with an inventory of 100.000 products.
