The result of a 20.000 euro investment, Lumea la Picioare (The World at Your Feet) online shop is a business specialized on custom women shoes. Behind the company stands Paula Negrea, ex fashion manager for eMag and a very good friend of the E-Commerce Awards Gala. The customizing is made according to the customers’ measurements. The shoes are manually crafted in Romania, in pure leather, in the workshops of local handmade artists.

Uber to become fast courier
For at least a year, Uber has experimented with transporting packages in addition to people. Now it’s ready to make the arrangement more formal. The popular ride-hailing service is planning a partnership announcement this fall with big retailers and fashion brands. It will start in New York City and include among its partnerships some flashy, luxury brands whose flagship stores are usually found on or around Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Partnerships with retailers in San Francisco will be announced at the same time or soon after.

More than 50% of Romanians book their vacation online and nearly 72% say that they trust the online booking websites, according to a HotelGuru.ro reseach. The majority of Romanians document their vacation online and 44% of them visit between 2 and 5 specialized websites, to read reviews about the places they plan to visit. The research was implemented on 1.930 persons in Romania.

Ebay turns 20

The online sales pioneer is hosting a big anniversary bash starting today, at the San Jose Convention Center. Yesterday was the start of a shopping event eBay is calling “20 Days of Deals,” featuring deep discounts on electronics and other select items, including some very special deals priced at a flat $20.
Romanians trust their online shops
Romanians consider that the national online shops are trustworthy – this is one of the conclusions of the Dot RO Content Quality research. This is the first study in Romania regarding the users’ feedback about the quality of the content on the Web. This is the second edition of the research. The study was implemented online yearly, using the CAWI (Computer Aided Web Interviewing) method. This initiative is supported and operated by Mediawrite – The Web Content-Media Agency.
